It also does a good job of removing pet hair however it isn't impervious to tangling as premium Roomba models like the j7 or I6.
The Roomba is easy to operate. It features three buttons on the top cover. It can be controlled with an app for smartphones which lets you schedule and stop/start cycles, as well as adjust settings. This self-emptying robot with a budget does a good job on hard floors and carpets with a low pile. Its combination brush reaches the edges and corners and automatically increases suction when it senses carpet. It also does an excellent job of cleaning embedded dirt on carpets in the middle of the pile. The IQ has a tiny footprint and also a self-emptying function. If you'd like to change the floor level or set zones that aren't allowed, you'll have to manually reset the map.
The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation capabilities however, it's not able to access no-go zones that are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing navigational system results in superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet cleaning mode cleans well, though it tends to get caught up on rug tassels. Its iHome speaker lets you control the robot using voice commands.
During our tests, the IQ was adept at handling pet hair with ease, removing an impressive amount of debris from bare floors and fair amounts on medium-pile carpet. It was a little less effective on shag carpets which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It did a decent job of navigating chair legs and tight spaces as well as the bottom of an wooden IKEA step stool. We did notice it was a bit slower on floors that were not paved however it soon recovered speed and performed more thoroughly than other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better option over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a bigger dust bin and lasts longer on a charge, and is capable of moving itself over obstacles. It also comes with a mopping attachment that can deal with sticky messes. On the other hand, the iRobot is more durable and has fewer components that require replacement or maintenance and incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and can even create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It can even restart cleaning from where it left off if it has run out of battery before it has completed the task. The iRobot can be controlled by voice, which is a huge plus for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't among the most feature-rich models, but it offers great cleaning power at affordable prices. The RoboVac 11S is designed for consumers with a tight budget who don't require a complicated mapping system, or even an app to control it. The device also has a tendency to bump into furniture and other objects in its path however, it's able detect those obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud ring when it encounters an obstruction. You can then manually guide the device around it and return it to working.
Another fantastic feature of the eufy11S is its BoostIQ mode that allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match floor type and the amount of dirt. The remote control makes it simple to guide the 11S to the desired location.
Single Room Mode is a great option if you have little furniture in the area you want to vacuum. The eufy can spend 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned to.
