The Eufy Robot Vacuum Review
Eufy is a household name for its easy-to-use robot vacuums. Its eufy RoboVac 30C model is Wi-Fi-enabled and has a remote control for convenient application operation. It also comes with boundary strips and has a battery life of 100 minutes.
Its Boost IQ Technology is able to move from tile, wood and area rugs, to low-pile and area rug. Other standard features include drop detection and obstacle detection that allow it to prevent bumps against walls and furniture.
Boost IQ Technology
The Eufy robotic vacuum line comes with several models. However, certain features are common to all. One of these features is Boost IQ technology specifically designed to aid your robot move seamlessly from hard floors to low to medium-pile carpeting as well as area rug. It will automatically increase suction power whenever it comes into contact with a particular surface type to ensure it gets as clean as is possible.
A useful feature is the manual switch between cleaning modes. This includes Quick Clean, which is ideal for a quick 30-minute sweep of the floor, Auto, which will work in an open space without switching modes, Edge, which will specifically focus on the corners and walls, and Spot that is best when there's an area that requires extra attention, like spilled baking soda.
Of course, the eufy robot also has the essential capabilities like drop and obstacle detection as well as a self-emptying base. Obstacle and drop detection is a common feature on all robots since it helps them avoid hitting furniture or walls and also keeps them from falling down stairs or other areas which could pose danger.
Many of the eufy robotics have a variety LED indicators that communicate with you, much like the digital watches. A solid green signal means that the robot is charging or standby mode. Blue means it is active and functioning. And a solid orange signalizes that your eufy is out of energy and has to be returned to its original location.
The RoboVac 11S is a top-rated robotic vacuum, is perfect for those looking for a powerful robot with a long-lasting running time. It is also able to be able to reach the farthest corners of your home. Its slim design fits under furniture or in tight spaces. It also comes with a scratch-resistant, tempered glass cover. It also has an actual remote control and smart sensors to help navigate, and a variety of cleaning modes. However, it doesn't have the same advanced features that some of the other models include, such as digital mapping or app-based controls.
Powerful Suction
This robot vacuum has an impressive suction of 2,000 pa, which is great to remove food crumbs, cereal crumbs, and other debris or dust on medium- to low pile carpeting and hard flooring. It also sucks up pet hair as well as other allergens off furniture upholstery. The side brush that rotates is useful for reaching into corners and along baseboards. The rolling brush picks up dust, dirt and other debris that sticks to surfaces.
The 25C is connected to Wi-Fi and can be controlled via an app on your smartphone or via voice when connected to a smart home speaker such as an Amazon Echo or Google Assistant. It also comes with a small base for charging that can be used to store the vacuum when not in use.
All eufy robotic vacuums include several standard features. These include drop and obstacle detection, which prevents it from hitting objects or falling down stairs. Certain models, like the eufy RoboVac 11S or its re-engineered predecessor, the RoboVac 30C Max provide advanced navigation systems that create and memorize the virtual map to help it know the direction it should take (and avoid) every time it cleans.
You can set up specific areas and set up cleaning cycles for the eufy robotic vacuum without the Alexa compatible app or voice controls. You can also cordon off rooms that contain sensitive items, such as the toys of your children or console tables. This eufy model also comes with a pair of border strips that can be bundled to let you secure larger areas.
The eufy RoboVac 11S MAX is one of the best-performing robotic vacuums we tested, earning top marks for both cleaning capabilities and navigation. Its design is simple, having a single button to start it up and an on/off switch beneath to ensure a constant shut-off. It also has a tempered-glass surface with ten sensors that help avoid obstacles and it comes with a 0.15 gallons/0.6 Liter dust bin. The new navigation system is equipped iPath technology that creates and stores a map of your floor. It uses this information to navigate quickly to each area of your home and make sure it covers every inch.
Convenient App Control
Like many robot vacuums on the market Eufy's models have smart features that let you manage your device remotely. This includes the ability to set cleaning times, designate virtual boundaries that prevent your robot from entering certain areas (such as rooms full of electrical cords), and set the'return to base' feature. Some even let you create the map of your home and mark areas where you'd like to get rid of.
Some of eufy's top-of-the-line robotic cleaners come with a unique navigation system, referred to as'smart mapping', which scans your home's floors and creates a map it references every time it cleans. This allows the vacuum to move seamlessly from bare floors to area rugs, and back without skipping any steps.
The eufy RoboVac 25C is a good example of this type of model. It comes with three suction power settings you can select using the companion app "Standard", "Turbo" which boosts the performance of the machine in cleaning floors with no dust and "Max" which is designed to clean high-pile flooring.
The battery life of the vacuum is also excellent. It can be used in its default "Standard" mode for up to 100 minutes. The vacuum has built-in indicator for batteries that flashes blue when it's charging, then changes to orange when power is low, and finally is fully charged and solid blue.
Another cool feature is the "Spot Cleaning mode that allows you to make the vacuum focus on a small specific area by pressing a button at its base. This is a great method to get pet hair or crumbs out of tight corners and under furniture which is where a traditional upright vacuum would have trouble.
The elegant RoboVac is also a great job of removing pet hair from different flooring types, but it might need several more passes to get rid of stubborn patches of hair in carpets with high and low pile. As with most robotic cleaners it's not as effective at getting hair out of crevices and cracks like it is with floors that are bare however, it does a fantastic job of removing pet hair from both robot vacuum black friday carpeted and un-floored surfaces.
100 Minutes of Cleaning
The robot vacuum's suction can clean for a staggering 100 minutes, and then it will automatically return to its charging base. It can be used on a variety of floors, and is equipped with a powerful vacuum that can pick up anything from cereal chunks to glitter tiny specks. It comes with a tough brush roll, as well as an additional brush that helps it reach crevices and corners that other robots may not be able to reach.
The battery-powered robo vacuum works on carpets and hard floors and can be activated via the included remote control or by using your smartphone or smart home assistant to transmit commands via Wi-Fi. You can also adjust the Boost IQ feature that optimizes suction power based on the kind of floor the vac is working on.
The G30 Edge, like other eufy robotics, is designed to move around your home in a minimally-setup way. It takes only a few minutes to snap on the edge brushes rotating in a circular motion and connect to your Wi-Fi network at home. Once connected, the app lets users to create a cleaning routine and use voice commands via an intelligent home speaker compatible.
Many eufy robots provide this level of customization that lets you select the specific areas that you want to focus it on and the times you'd like it to clean. The app allows you to define virtual boundaries that stop the robot from entering areas where there could be electrical wires, or other obstacles.
Some eufy products include an intuitive map that uses a combination sensors to calculate the locations of walls and furniture. It then draws a route to cover the areas. Others employ a more advanced navigational system known as iPath. In these cases the robotic vacuum employs an algorithm to generate the path and follows it until the specified area is completely covered. The robot then returns to its dock where it charges and awaits its next cleaning.
Other models of eufy's robotic vacuums do not possess this level of intelligence. These entry-level models, which are usually the cheapest in the lineup, don't use the digital mapping system, but instead chart the same zig-zag pattern every time they begin cleaning. While this may be frustrating, the eufy robotic cleaner will always cover the same areas. It also rarely fails to cover corners or other difficult to reach areas.
